01 / The Narrative
Gemfest's street was conceived as more than a collection of venues. It was designed as a neighbourhood; a place where every building, storefront and forgotten corner contributed to a world that felt playful, cohesive and full of personality.
Inspired by the language of city streets, we combined recognisable architecture with exaggerated festival storytelling, creating a space that encouraged exploration long after people had found the venue they came for.
02 / The Build
Alongside three fully realised micro-venues, we developed a series of supporting spaces that gave the street its rhythm and character. A weathered newsstand, a graffiti-covered poster wall, a tongue-in-cheek tow lot, and a run-down corner shop all became destinations in their own right rather than simply filling empty space.
Each element was treated with the same level of consideration as the headline venues. Layered textures, distressed finishes, bespoke graphics and evolving details gave every façade its own identity while ensuring the street felt like a single, connected environment.
03 / The Details
The most rewarding parts of the street weren't always the largest.
People stopped to read satirical posters, noticed hidden references in the graffiti, peered into shop windows and discovered details that revealed themselves over time. These moments transformed transitional spaces into places people wanted to spend time in, proving that the character of a street isn't defined by its landmarks alone, but by everything in between.
